Full stack engineer, focused on applied AI.

I'm Harry, a 29-year-old full stack software engineer based in the UK. I've been building for the web since 2018, and these days my focus is applied AI: integrating LLMs into real systems, and building the APIs, interfaces and orchestration that make them reliable enough for people to use every day.

I like small, fast software that does one thing well, and I care more about shipping something people actually use than about what it's built with. Outside of work I freelance, build side projects, and keep a long list of things I want to learn next.

Building and maintaining the LLM integrations behind Athena, ConnexAI's AI customer journey platform. Built Clara end to end, an AI analytics assistant that answers questions in natural language and generates charts and tables on demand.

Designed and built archtms, a PERN practice management system covering timesheets, resourcing, cash flow forecasting and client portals for 80+ staff. Added dashboards across 13,000+ projects and cut hosting costs by 90% by moving from Heroku to Docker on Fly.

2020 – 2022
Built a Django app that cut safety data sheet authoring time by over 50%, and automated regulatory data checks with Selenium, Celery and ML forecasting models. Led code reviews, mentored junior developers and supervised two intern projects.

Built NLP search over 20,000+ chemical phrases for a live safety data sheet authoring app, and tuned queries and indexes to make search 60% faster.

Outside of work

Most weeks revolve around training. I'm a hybrid athlete, so that means a mix of running and lifting, and I enjoy having something to work towards that has nothing to do with a screen.

I'm a lifelong Liverpool FC fan, through the good seasons and the other ones, and I play a fair bit of chess, slowly getting better.
